Been a really long while since i last went to the gym.

I guess it's really the Mindef internship, kinda inspired me to work really hard to train up.

Really pumped out, tired and feel like sleeping. But there are still tons of homework waiting for me.

+

There is still monster hunts to do.

:D

Games > life> homework

I should start getting stuff for christmas before the prices start hiking. Remember ur econs dudes? Demand shock in just another week, i can see the future.

A video me and my team made for the YDSP animation competition. We dint win the competition, but still i'm very proud of our work.

Here's the clip we spent the last 4 days making. Mind you, it was damn tiring and tedious. And we know nuts about animation making...

But i guess the 40 bucks MPH voucher kinda make up for the not winning. It's not about winning anyway (:

I've promised to blog today so even though i'm damn tired right now, i'll just post something about the past few days.

It's 8.29pm now and i'm still busy planning the storyline of this animation that we've to finish by friday. The duration of the clip MUST be around 60-90 secs. And for your information, most commercials on TV, they're only around 30 secs. So i'm really squeezing my brain juices down here.

Okay I'm very tired now, physically and mentally too.

Reason..
Just a few days after i came back from China Yunnan (how i wish i'm back there), I left on this overnight internship programme at MINDEF or rather, at the Singapore Armed Forces Officer Cadet school. A pretty enriching and enjoyable experience i would say.
It was the first time i launched real live grenades from a grenade launcher and the whole bunch of us pretty much flattened a hill (ROFL). The grenades din't kill me but the recoil+sound could have. I've fired live rounds from a semi-automatic machine gun too and a sniper rifle. Was definitely a, how should i put it, a thrilling experience. I'm talking about real guns not water guns that u find at the neighbourhood swimming pool.

More about MIP...

People i've met --> lots of high ranking officers + the 4 highest ranking individuals in the SAF. The Chiefs of Navy/Airforce/Army and Defence. No kidding. Very impressive characters really. And really finally understood what loving my nation really is. A feeling i can't put to words, and that's why i won't.

More about MIP...

Food --> Good stuff, exactly what my brother promised me. I remember having LOTS of teabreaks with great food. Roti Prata and pastas for breakfasts. Chocolate buns/muffins for snacks. Especially the food for the navy, it rocks. Well they did explain the reason why.. Apparently, the chefs for the RSSs are all trained professionals (smart) because for the navy crew, when they have to spend a long period of time onboard the ship for exercises/trainings, food and sleep may be the only thing they can look forward to that's why good food serves to be a good morale booster. Never knew huh?
Drinks --> Abit too bland, but i won't complain.

It was a pity we missed the cheenok ride and the Black Hawks' aerial display. But getting to see all the aircrafts (static display) was amazing enough. The F-16s and the fighter helicopters are my personal favourites.

Eh enough about MIP. I'll now talk about YDSP camp.

It started on 10th december, which is yesterday, and we went to DSO for a tour around the labs. Saw a few DSTA stuff that i saw in the army, such as the 3rd generation army stuff and IKC2.

It's a 5 day event, and even though it's a camp it's not a overnight camp. Which means i still get home and interact with the world. At least i thought so. Until i started getting busy with all the animation @#$@#$ that i have to do because we're taking part in this competition and we will have to present our end product to a panel of judges THIS FRIDAY. Horrors..

FURTHEMORE, I have yet to touch my homework. The whole pile of homework #$%!@ that i have to do, waiting for me...

Sucks

I thought it's december holidays now

It's 1.07am now and i'm supposed to continue my blogpost about my outreach trip to China Yunnan. And once again I don't know where to start.

I guess that most people will start writing about things they've learnt from trips like such, what they've gained and then continue writing about the trip in chronological order, and so i'll do just that.

I believe most of all, or rather should i say, all of us SHOULD have learnt to be more appreciative about things that we already have, probably to complain less and to treasure things more. The villagers in China, let's not talk about technology and stuff, they don't even have proper sanitation facilities. Yes, Miss Koh did say it may be their culture and such, but this? We's aint even talking about a flush, toilet bowls and all, you're lucky enough if you dont have spiders crawling up your butts or see maggots squirming around in that shithole each time you go to the toilet.
And when i say hole, i really mean a hole. The public toilets in that area ain't what we really call toilets. It's just a dug hole with some wooden planks above to hold your weight and filled with a stench so awful i think even a housefly can die sniffing it. Okay take that back, the toilets are filled with undying houseflies. And when i say shit hole, i really mean a shit hole. Cause all that's in that "toilet" is, to put it nicely, human waste. Loads and piles of them. They don't have a flush remember? So people just go in there, do their business, and leave and they just remain there piling up until one day it fills till the top, then they shovel it away or down further in that hole.
Maybe that's the inspiration for the command "fire in the hole" in counter strike.

And here we are, complaining about little things like not having enough toilets in TJC? They only have one 'toilet' for the whole school population over there. Which on the other hand, aint alot. They have only 7 classes of around 40 students each, 1 class for ever primary school level and an additional one for preschoolers but that's besides the point

SO yup, that probably explains why i've learnt to treasure things that i have and not whine about things i don't have. If i were to ever complain about anything, slap me.

And then secondly, I've learnt how to interact with people better (I hope). And that I won't elaborate on.

And most importantly, I've realized the importance of working in a team. PW couldn't teach me that. But the lovely kids over there could. They showed me what competition really meant, some of the naughty horror kids did screw my days then real bad too, but that taught me the importance of working as a team (by team i'm referring to whole bunch of us tjcians in Yunnan). Okay here's the story.

On second thoughts, maybe i'll continue tomorrow, which is a friday, nov 30th which also sucks. Cause i thought 30th was a Saturday so i can go out, which sucks cause i've gotten that wrong too. Saturday is 1st of December, which means I have MIP that day which also means I can't go out.

Darn.

Peace

North South East West
Home is STILL the best

It's Nov 28 today, and i've gotten back here on the 26th, which means it has been 2 days since the trip ended. Which also means, i've wasted 2 days doing nothing but sleep, eat and watch heroes.

Actually i have alot to post about but i don't know where to start from. My thoughts about the trip, the wonderful experience i had in Yunnan, my feelings, things/people who inspired me and so much more, but no worries, aint gonna post anything preachy so you peeps dont have to worry about getting turned off.

Maybe I'll start with... eh... I'll start tomorrow.
I'm gonna continue watching Heroes.

(:
